How do you attach the new door handle if your boyfriend takes the door apart without taking a photo and now you can't get the new parts to fit?! 2 Answers
Last Monday night, I went out and my boyfriend snapped the handle off the washing machine door. This Monday, I went out and my boyfriend came home from work to discover the new door handle kit had arrived, so took the door apart to fix it and now can't remember how it was put together. Aside from the fact that I clearly need to stop going out on Mondays, please can anyone offer any advice on how to attach this new door handle? Is the pin supposed to go through the latch thing, as well as the spring? I can't seem to get it to fit. Many thanks indeed!
- Hi! : The pin supposed to go through the hood, the plastic base and the spring. Just a tip remember the hood should be facing out, lock with the outside of the door.
- The spring hoops should be aligned one each side of the latch. Then put into position in the door and slide the pin in. It can get a bit fidgety but does go.
The handle of my Washing machine broke off with the door closed. How do I open the door, so that I can start removing the broken parts? 2 Answers
- I did have the same problem, I use a screw driver between the plstic square left on the broken door and the washing and basically you are pushing the hood inside the door. The hood is the one keeping the door close. Hope this help!
- Use a large screwdriver to push the mechanism in and the door should pull open. Might help if someone else pulls the door open.
I can't see how I can remove the existing broken handle... also cant see how I would insert the pin of the new one...do i need to take the whole door off?
- You need to take all the door out of the machine, But remember to take pictures of the assemble before doing it! specially when you open the door. Door out of the hinge that keep it on the washing machine. 2-The door have a lid, that you need to open. Once it is open take a picture before taking anything out!, really you need to do that!. Good luck!
- Open door, remove small phillips screws from inside of door plate. pull front plastic door away from glass anr rear section (door partly closed to allow seperation at hinge point)Handle assemblly is located in removed section. Using small screwdriver slide locating pin down and remove with longnose pliers. Slide out door handle and spring from front of door panel taking note of position and location of spring and catch direction. Remove and replace following directions in reverse making sure you have tension on the spring before sliding pin through all parts ribed end of pin last. (good luck)
Does anybody have a photo of the handle before it was dismantled to be changed for a new one ,I forgot to take one and I am struggling to fit the new handle .thank you
