Hi Asheldon, I'm afraid without seeing your appliance it'd be impossible for me to say what was causing this problem. My advice would be to seek a repair man.

If your machine is taking in water to fill and coming up with this error then it could be a optical sensor problem depending on who manufactured the appliance (as opposed to who's badge is on it). For additional fault information see our video: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/3/1985/how-to-diagnose-control-and-programme-issues-with-a-dishw

Answer this question

The dishwasher fills and empties several times before it kicks in and starts a full cycle, it is fine after it starts it does the full cycle without any problems

11 flashes indicates a 'optical water' sensor problem, This is sometimes referred to as a turbidity sensor and flushes the machine till it thinks the water is clean to start. If coffee or tea is spilt into the sump or you have not been rinsing the food off the plates this may be the cause. Try using a dishwasher cleaner like Stock Number: ES1566874

Answer this question

dishwasher is filling with water and emptying. opening of powder compartment is functioning but spray arms are not working. spray arms are clean and not blocked does the salt dispenser have a water level sensor?? or could it be the circulation pump??

This does sound like a circulation pump problem. Some times if the motor is seized there will be an associated hum as the motor is powered. If the filling water is stopped by the machine then the wash motor should be being powered and it is not likely to be a filling problem.
