I have tries other cleaners. although not bleach as I feel this might rot the rubber. Is your washing machine cleaner able to remove the mould on washing machine seals that butt onto the drum?

If you watch the video it does explain that it will remove the sludge and kill the bacteria. However if the seal is stained no product can remove this.

You have not given much detail, any limescale or mould would wash away and the product does not damage the machine in any way so it is very unlikely to be coming from the cleaner. A common cause of little grey bits like when you use a pencil eraser on paper especially around the door seal is when the machine has caused some washing to rub on the seal during spin rubbing off some of the door seals surface. This can be caused by overloading, out of balance (especially on large drums like Hoover machines). Or even worn bearings which can also leave black oil marks on the washing.

ES664212 is supplied in packs of 10 but they both do the same job and you would be hard pressed to be able to identify any difference in performance.

Hi there, I have a 1 year old washing machine which says you just need to wash at 75 degrees to clean out residue. I'd like to try this item to wash out limescale since the water here does produce alot of it. I'm a bit wary since the manual says not to use corrosives due to the plastic parts I guess. Is this totally safe to use on our washing machine? Thanks

  • I have used the product without problem at normal washing temperatures; my area too is hard water and my washing machine is Miele. I cannot comment or advise if the product will be suitable for your machine. By Anonymous - West Midlands - 17 January 2015
